Bot Games 2021 is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited about the events, content, and tutorials that we have to share with the Automation Anywhere developer community. Bot Games is going fully virtual this year, with a bit of a twist – the addition of a full month of dedicated developer content and challenges by way of Bot Wars.
The Bot Games Hackathon is an awesome opportunity for developers to win some serious cash and get inspired by creative automation from across the community. We’ll be giving away over $18,000 USD in cash and prizes as a part of this month-long hackathon event. The theme of this year’s event is “Helping employees return to a more productive and creative workplace”. Participate as a team of one, or team up with up to 3 others (4 team members in total) to create and submit an innovative bot that automates mundane tasks or processes so workers around the world can head back to a more fulfilling workplace.
Your submission could win big! First prize is $5,000 USD, second prize is $3,000, and third prize is $2,000. Additional innovation awards will be presented for solutions that show exceptional creativity and innovative thinking.
All submissions will be due August 31, 2021, with winner announcements coming on September 13, 2021.
New this year to our virtual Bot Games is Bot Wars. Bot Wars is designed to uplevel your RPA developer skills, test your RPA expertise, and encourage creative problem solving. Each Monday for the first 4 weeks in August, we will release a Bot Wars challenge page – designed to test your abilities as an RPA developer. Each challenge page will track the speed and accuracy of your bot’s ability to complete the challenge. Successfully complete the challenge and share your accomplishment on social media and you could be rewarded with limited edition Bot Games swag.
Complete all four challenges to maximize your opportunity to take home some Bot Games swag. To participate, be sure to check back here on the developer portal on Monday, August 2nd, when the first Bot Wars challenge will be released. As you complete each challenge, be sure to tweet click the link to share your accomplishment on Twitter (and on LinkedIn) along with a screenshot of your challenge page results.
There are multiple ways to solve each challenge which will impact your results, so we’ll be here to help. On Thursday of each week, we will release a tutorial on one approach to solving each week’s Bot Wars challenge page. So be sure to try out the challenge pages before Thursday each week so you can see how your solution compares to what we came up with.
Bot Games 2021 is also all about helping the Automation Anywhere developer community engage with each other to share their automation stories, exchange ideas, and expand automation to help everyone return to a more productive and creative workplace. Beyond the Bot Wars challenge pages, each weekday for the entire month of August, we’ll have new developer-focused content. From community-contributed articles, bot-build tutorials, Bot Store package reviews, to live Bot Games help sessions for those looking for help on their Hackathon builds/Bot Wars builds. A calendar of events will display each day’s new content, as well as have links to previously released content/challenges. Make sure you share what you’ve learned and how you’re applying this newfound knowledge on social media using the hashtags #BotGames and #RPAugust and you could be taking home some limited edition Bot Games swag!
If all of that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be doing live weekly recap sessions each Friday to talk about some of the highlights from that week’s content/events. Be sure to share your Bot Wars results on social as we’ll be shouting out some of the Automation Anywhere developers who posted the most impressive/interesting solutions to that week’s Bot Wars challenge.
We can’t wait for what August has in store for the Automation Anywhere developer community. We hope that you can all participate, get inspired, win some prizes and uplevel your RPA skills with Bot Games 2021!
